Welcome to Therapy with Hajra

Hi, I’m Hajra Kalam. A psychologist dedicated to supporting expats, international students, and LGBTQ+ individuals through life’s challenges. With a compassionate, culturally sensitive, and affirming approach, I offer a space where you can show up fully as yourself with no need to explain the basics. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, navigating identity, looking for support in a new environment, or just need someone in your corner, I'm here for you.

I believe that therapy should be tailored to the individual, which is why I take a
client-centered approach.

Empathy and positive regard for my clients are of utmost importance to me, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and valued.

Mental health is not a one-size-fits-all issue, and I adapt each session to meet the specific needs of the client. In our first few sessions, I will assess the challenges you are facing and work with you to formulate a tailored approach that best supports your needs.

My Approach

My approach integrates a variety of evidence-based therapeutic models, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBT). By blending these modalities, I create a personalized therapy plan that addresses each client’s unique needs.

While exploring past experiences and emotions is important, therapy is ultimately about helping you move forward in a meaningful way- this is why I believe in goal-oriented solutions to the presenting problem. This requires both you and me to do the work to improve your mental well-being.

My sessions with you will place high importance on trust and mutual respect, ensuring that you feel safe and supported throughout our work together. I will support and guide you throughout the process, but our active collaboration is key to achieving lasting change. 

This allows me to make a genuine connection with you during therapy. In a trusting and safe environment, we can work together to reframe negative thoughts, process past traumas, and foster behavioral change which can lead to lasting growth

I offer online therapy in both English and Hindi, providing a flexible and accessible space for individuals to work through their mental health challenges.
